Dr. Deborah Andrade is an accomplished oncology researcher and clinical scientist with over 25 years of experience. As a dedicated oncology scientist, she has driven innovation and cancer care through clinical trial design, guiding therapies through the drug development life cycle, and collaborated with key opinion leaders to bring breakthrough treatments to patients. As the founder of The Oncology Management Group, she brings a rare depth of insight into the knowledge of oncology principles, scientific acumen, and human dimensions of cancer care.

Dr. Andrade holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Molecular Biology from Texas A&M Health Science Center, a Master’s in Biochemistry from Baylor University, and a Bachelor’s in Sociology and Biology from Southern Methodist University. She brings global expertise in immunotherapies and solid tumor strategy with extensive experience shaping the development of clinical trials across multiple regions including the US, Europe, and Asia.

Her career includes high-impact roles at Genentech, BioMarin, and Berlex Oncology, where she held senior positions within medical affairs, developed clinical research protocols, conducted competitive intelligence, and interfaced directly with key opinion leaders, investigators, and global cross-functional teams. She has authored and reviewed hundreds of scientific communications tools, facilitated advisory board meetings, developed executive reports, training modules, and clinical study materials, while mentoring medical affairs teams and guiding oncology portfolio strategy.

Through her consultancy, DLA Consulting, LLC, founded in 2013, Dr. Andrade has provided strategic medical review, scientific content development, and clinical protocol design to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Her work has supported medical affairs training, investigator-sponsored trials, external scientific collaborations, and regulatory documentation across early- and late-phase studies.

A champion for patient-centered care, Dr. Andrade launched The Oncology Management Group to directly support patients and families navigating a cancer diagnosis. She is passionate about bridging the gap between clinical data and real-world decision-making — empowering patients with evidence-based guidance, access to emerging therapies and trials, and holistic wellness strategies supporting nutrition and mental health.

With a long-standing commitment to advancing science and patient advocacy, Dr. Andrade has presented at oncology conferences and co-authored peer-reviewed publications.
